Artist

Originally from London, I left the UK after my studies - seeking new adventures. Over the last few years I have moved across many different countries and continents, hence the tattooing alias; Nomad Pokes.
Having studied painting, at University of the Art London, I found it difficult to continue after graduating - moving around a lot meant I often didn't have the space or the materials to create, which is how my artistic practice started to translate into other mediums.
I found myself tattooing on the move, being able to express myself creatively without needing many tools. Essentially creating work on a canvas that could walk away at the end of the session. Similarly to this, I also discovered murals. A way for me to return to painting but equally, creating artwork that belongs where I place it and can be left behind.
I am most inspired through my love of nature; botanicals being the theme that reoccurs most often in my work. That, paired with my love of people and portraiture, I like to combine the two elements while playing and experimenting with the natural form.
Now currently based in France, but still nomadic at heart, I love that my work still enables me to travel across Europe. Having painted murals and been a guest in tattoo studios across several different countries and festivals.
Having my own homebase again has permitted me to return to my first love, which will always be portraiture. Coming back to oil painting, after a few years away, allows me to explore the medium with a new perspective and fresh ideas.
